Thanks and Progress!

TGVP cannot thank our supporters enough for coming out to our February Trivia night at Kirkwood Station Brewery in Kirkwood, MO.  Between the event, the raffle items, and some very generous donors, we were able to raise enough money to fund a new Educational/Community Center for La Vina Tipitapa (picture above).  The land and new facility will cost La Vina $5,000, to which TGVP committed to fund $2,500 of this cost.  The new facility will provide the Tipitapa community with the following services:

Tipitapa Young Boy

-Adult Education

-Children Feed Center

-Children Care Center

-Equipping Workshops for Women – Skills and Motivational Courses

Tipitapa is a community in need in Nicaragua and TGVP cannot be more thankful for the opportunity to work with the La Vina team!

Equally exciting news came our way recently, as several 5th grade students at Pierremont Elementary, approached their teachers with the idea of a fundraiser for their sister school (Elba Zamora) outside of Granada, Nicaragua.  This was such an amazing realization for those of us that have been part of TGVP from the outset, as TGVP’s ultimate mission is to “improve the educational environment for impoverished children, while introducing the concept of global philanthropy to children in the U.S.”  To see Pierremont students take it upon themselves to suggest fundraising ideas, brings great joy to all of us involved.

There is such great need in our world, we believe that introducing philanthropy to these children at a young age can only help improve the future.  One thing we have learned through all this is that children do not see limitations the way adults do.  They only see possibilities.  It warms our hearts to support them see their ideas to help others come to fruition.
